I'd like to see it even more simplified and have it simply let you continue to click "add another..." after you enter each person. You could even offer different pricing options this way (Add another Adult, Add another Youth, Add another Married Couple). The married couple could use a special function called 2-for-1 that lets you enter two people on one reg form with fields for both.
Right now we use a fee field and a text block that says you must check the box on BOTH spouses to get the discount. It works but it's a bit clunky.
The other thing we did was reword the first page so it says "I am registering one person" and "I am registering more than one person" As it turns out, our older folks seem to be confused because they are sometimes registering multiple people, but they aren't coming as a "group" so we had to remove the word group from the first page.
Andy, great explanations. I, too, would like to see 1 as an option for group registrations, or do away with the individual and group altogether.
On one site it is adults registering children exclusively for events. Unless I'm not realizing a better way, I set the price to zero, and for each child registered, a fee is added. The issue with this is the event shows as fee on the Events List Page.
On another site, the events are almost always free, several a month, but the registrants are older couple who don't think of themselves as a group, but as one unit. I've changed the wording on the main registration page in the language file, but that's a hassle to do with each update.
I was pleasantly surprised to see not only groups of 1, but my suggestion to just have the ability to click "add another" instead of putting in a group number. That plus the group list at the END (with ability to edit the group, remove and add more members) puts this component up into another level completely!
