I'm using DT Register with the built-in Paypal option for payed events.
Over the last 4 weeks I had 4 cases where customers purchased tickets a second time, and then the system automatically added the charge of their previously payed tickets and charged them again.
This doesn't happen all the time, and I haven't been able to even reproduce the problem by testing. But I have 4 proven cases where the Paypal charges clearly show that the customers got charged twice for the first set of tickets they bought.
I have not tried to fix it. It only happened twice in the past month, I just thought somebody clicked the button too many times or something.
I didn't realize until I read your post that it was an issue. A woman registered herself, then a new registration for her husband, then was charged again for herself. When she emailed us I was a little confused but just thought nothing of it. When it happened again I again brushed it off.
My solution was to void out extra payment through authorize.net because I thought it was a fluke.
I'm not sure how to approach it now, it will likely happen again.
It's interesting to hear that this happens with a 2 different payment gateways.
For me I had 4 registrations out of 340 where this happened. After the first customer found out and complained I checked all Paypal records and found 3 more cases.
But I cannot replicate the problem myself and I haven't found an "algorithm" or rules when it happens. If anybody else experiences this, it would be good to hear.
