TOPIC: Moving from Wait List to Registered

I have two attendees for a class who are currently wait listed. The instructor for this class has stated she wants everyone who registers to be admitted to the class.

How do I move people from the Wait List to the Registered list? I already adjusted the maximum number of students for the class. (I'm currently using version 2.6.6d.)

There is no moving directly from the waiting list to a registered member. First, you only have basic info for the user in the waiting list, so any custom fields for your event would not be included. You can either manually register that user in the backend or contact them and send them to registration. Thanks.

Such a feature is mostly wanted as the waiting list functionality is a pain when I set up small events with a lot of attendees on the waiting list.

As soon as an attendee is removed from an event the first on the waiting list should be automatically moved (optionally alternatively manually) from the waiting list. An email should be sent to the attendee and to the admin about this.

I have not found a joomla component with such functionality yet, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who miss this.

I register camping RV events for a club. It is unbelievable how this component sells sign ups.. I set up the wait list thinking the list would prove helpful in the event early registered members can not make the event . on the first day 50 spots sold out and the wait list grew to 5. I was able to add more camping spaces spaces to the event and emailed the waitlist members to sign up. by the end of the day the 10 added spots were gone and 3 of the 5 site members never opened their email. I needed to find 3 more camp spaces and a way to register these folks manually.

I went to back end records =>chose the event then clicked the green icon + "individual Registration" and added the three members as registered for the event.
I can confirm it with them on the phone or in an email but the information is incomplete and they were not forced to accept terms and conditions.

since this product is so customizable I will wait for 2.7 and see if there is a way to customize the waitlist to require terms and conditions or find a way to require waitlist addons to reenter the registration process and update their registration for it to take effect. they could then enter the various payment gateways.

There should be two options for this.

1. Automatic processing of waitlist

As soon as someone is dropped from the registered list, the next on on the waitlist is contacted by e-mail and given a special login link to complete his registration and payment.

2. Manuel processing

Much the same as the automated processing, but here you can choose who comes in from the waitlist.

This was an old thread, but since it's been replied to again...

As of version 2.7, you CAN move someone from the waiting list to an active registrant. The waiting list is no longer a separate collection of users. It is the same table of users, just with a new status of "Waiting". So to move someone from the waiting list, you just change their status from "Waiting" to "Active" or "Pending".

It is a manual process still, but at least you can move records now as opposed to older versions. An automated process will come later.
