Hi,

Is it possible to set up a group registration where the first form contains all the detail info needed.. name, address, email, phone, etc and the next form(s) for the following members just have basic info fields?

For instance I'm setting up a 'kid's movie night' at a local community center where presumably a parent would click on 'group', and enter say '4' for the number in the group. The first form would have all the details about the group and the subsequent forms would just have fields for the following 3 members names?

I don't want to have to ask the parent to have to enter the same address, phone, zip, or email addresses, etc for each of their kids. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks :)

A group registration will ask the details of each member first, then do the final "billing" page. However, you can customize which fields are asked for each group member. All of this is done in the main config area. You can set which fields are used for paid events, free events, then which fields are used for members of a group registration. Regarding custom fields, you can do the same thing but that is done in the setup for each individual event.

Hi, I'm not understanding how to have a different fields for each group member in a single group. I see the area to set the fields for group registration but I'm not sure how to set it up like I described in the previous post.

Say for instance that I wanted to sign up for a free event that included me and three children. After selecting 'group' registration I fill out a long form with all necessary details (name, address, phone, email, etc) and then the following three sign up forms for the same group would contain fields only for first and last name.

As I see it now I can control the fields for the group registration but every person in a group has to fill out the same form.

All 3 members of the group will fill out the same data, which could be first and last name only (as a minimum). You can apply whatever other fields you want for each member. It is done on the last section of the Fields tab in the Configuration page.

After each member fills out their info, then the final billing page will use the form fields as configured according to the paid or free settings made on the same configuration tab.

You really should watch the video tutorials... particularly the one on Configuration.

I understand the mechanics of it however supposing I just have first and last name as the only required field for each member. When I get to the final form it again asks for first and last name as well as any of the fields I choose in the 'configuration/fields' tab page (in this case a free event). I'm thinking that seeing fields to enter first and last name again is going to be confusing for the enrollee.

Ultimately it would be desirable in this case to enter everyone's first name one by one and the final form have a field for 'family name' or 'group name' and the basic address, email, phone fields w/o the first/last name fields again. Is this possible?

No, the final page is used as the main contact of the group... usually the billing info. If you are taking payment, this is the info used for the payment. There IS a Group Name field there as well. If you think you need more detail, you could change "Billing Information" in the language file to something else that tells your users what that last page is. Also, in the config for each event there is a full message box (first box on the "Messages" tab for each event) that you can give a custom message to the user. This message shows above that final page in a group registration. You can put as much info there as you need to make sure users know what to do. As long as you provide whatever instructions your users might need, there is no reason anyone should find it confusing.
