When I first started with dtregister in February, I tried integrating with community builder, but experienced some odd system behaviors so I removed it.

Now several of our registrants that are registering for multiple events would like to be able to track what they've registered for in one place and to store their payment information. It's my understanding that these are both possible with the CB integration.

Can any of you walk me through the steps to do this seamlessly in an already functioning system? I can't afford any oddities for even a day. One thing that's important to my supervisor is a way to prevent the cb members from being listed in the dtregister backend "select a user" dropdown in the add new registration panels.

With our CB Plugin, each user's registration history would be shown in their profile. They could also store payment info, yes.

To make sure you have all of the necessary profile fields, I'd suggest installing CB first, then reinstalling DT Register. It will create the profile fields if they do not already exist. Reinstalling DT Register will not remove any of your existing data, settings, etc. If you have any modified DT Reg files, back them up first, then you can just reload them after the reinstall.

Now, you said that you do NOT want each user to show in the "Select a User" dropdown?? That seems odd. All site users will show in this dropdown... that is the purpose of the dropdown. You would need this anyway as your existing records will NOT be assigned to any user and therefore not show up in anyone's profile. If the person registered while NOT logged in, the record will not be assigned to any user and not show up in any profile. The "Select a User" enables you to update the record and assign it to a record if needed.

ok, so I've misunderstood the "select a user" field all along. I thought it was to attribute which admin entered a new registrant in the backend. Is it unnecessary to make a selection in that field when we don't have other registered users?

You mentioned in another thread that an update is pending. Would you recommend I integrate cb at that time? and just to be certain, which version cb?

Thanks.

That "Select a User" is NOT required. It is only used to assign a record to a registered user. If the user is logged in when they register, this field will already be set and assigned to a user.

If using DT Register 2.5.x, use CB 1.2. If using DT Register 2.4.x or older, use CB 1.1.

Yeah, you might as well wait for the new update. Watch this site and your email for the announcement.

Above in this post it advises installing Community Builder before DT Register?

Is this really the case?

I have been doing a fresh newbie install and have set up acajoom, jevents and DT Register
but not yet installed CB.

I didn't see any instructions for doing CB first.
Also is there a specific CB plugin to get hold of or does it integrate as standard in DTR?

Is there any documentation I just haven't read explaining DTR and CB integrated functionality?

Also On install of CB it says select Name Style and save and this this is important before you run the Community Builder Synchronise Users tool.

Does this matter what I set Name Style to for DTR?

I have searched on google and there is no up-front explanation of what the 3 available name styles actually do...
Single Name / First & Last name etc.
does single name provide one box for first name and a separate box for surname
and
does First & Last name provide a single box for both names?

confused of UK :) :?
