Was running DT Register 2.4.2 and an older version of JEvents
Upgraded my JEvents to the latest MVC version for Joomla 1.5 and went through the event migration. All was ok, so uninstalled older version of JEvents.
Uninstalled DT Register 2.4.2 and installed DT Register 2.5.

All my entries in DT Register 2.5 are now gone. I checked the database and they are still in the table, but not showing under manage events. What gives?

One person had reported a similar issue... the problem was the eventID changed for the JEvents items. The EventID is what connects the event to DT Register. So if the events are there but using a different ID, DT Register is not recognizing them as the same event that was previously there. The solution would be to modify the EventIDs on the JEvents side to use what it did previously.

Not sure why this would happen... but we'd like to know. Had you created any events in the new JEvents prior to migrating the old legacy events in?

To respond to your question, no, I did not set up any new JEvents before migrating the legacy events. If it is just that the eventID is not linking that is no big deal. I could probably write a script to go through and correct things in the database. It's just a PITA that things didn't migrate properly, but I can see as DT Register is a different component how things would be quite difficult to connect if JEvents "changed" anything.

One suggestion I would have for DT Register is that you could register for multiple events without having to check out after each one, or put some hooks in the code where people could write modules or hacks to customize the process without having to hack the code.

We have updated the 2.5.1 package and it now has a tool to re-sync your events for those that the migration from legacy events into JEvents 1.5 changes the ID numbers. We've seen 3 cases of this. IF you still have the old com_events table, you can use this tool to re-sync the events with DT Register.

Hi,

I'm having the exact same problem with a site I work on. They have a huge schedule and a great many events on their calendar. I've gone through this process twice now and even with the new resync feature, I am still unable to get the events migrated properly. This is a major hassle for me because in order to do the upgrade I have to run through all these steps, then use the resync tool on more than 200 events, only to find out that it still doesn't work. This costs me about 2 hours every time I do this.

Then, to clean up the mess, I have to uninstall Jevents and DTRegister, delete the newly modified database, recreate and restore the old database, then reinstall DTRegister 1.4.2. This part only takes about 30 minutes, but this whole migration experience has been terrible for me.

Before I even tried this on the actual live site, I have a test site which is as close to an exact duplicate as possible. In all the tests I've done, everything went well and I made all my code mods on the test site so the upgrade on the live site would be rapid. The test site has only 30 events or so and everything is working smoothly. However, due to the large number of events in our old 1.4.3 JEvents on the live site, something is being lost in the transfer and I lose about 80% of the events on the front end, and about 30% on the back end.

Do you have any ideas of how I may be able to get these events migrated to the new version without having to manually go through and recreate each one? Also, everything shows up fine in JEvents 1.5. Please help.

did anyone find a solution for the resync tool assigning the wrong events? I got most of mine back to the correct place but 3 are still wrong and I need to open registration for a new program today at the latest.

Natahn said he'd go in and do it, but seems to have gone missing.

I'd be happy with basic instructions on how to do it myself

Can I just add a new event without causing more problems?
