What a hassle, cool product by the way.:woohoo:

But the field limitations are a mess to work around.

I have had to hack 3 files and modify the db tables to work around the issue.

Can you please lift ALL the field limitations or raise the limit to a ridiculously high number.

All I wanted to do was add a custom field with about 20-40 items in the drop-down. I had to hack the admin files and tables.

Now I want to make the dropdown a bit wider then the max 255, I am currently hunting that hack now.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE fix ALL the limitations on the next release. I don\'t want to have to rehack on every upgrade.

Cheers,
Mcmasters

Same here... I need a dropdown menu for 80 names... the 255 char limitation is a pain...

Any news on this or better a solution?

Kind Regards

robert - you\'ll need to modify a field type in your database. For a while now, new installs have created these database fields without these old limitations. When you are upgrading, the database type is not changed.

Go to the database table jos_dtregister_fields and edit the field \"values\". Change the type from VARCHAR(255) to TEXT.

I see that the database has things set to text for me, but when in the Joomla interface for the custom field, the \"size\" field only lets me enter a value up to 255. So when the user sees my form, if the dropdown option is more than 255 characters, it is cut off. Any way to fix this so that the form user can see the entire selection?
