We’ve been getting a few DTDonate confirmation for PayPal donations with the amount reading as $0 (see example below) - although the PayPal receipt and our account both say the donation was received as indicated by the donor on the website.
This wouldn’t be a problem except that the e-mail sent to donors to confirm the donation receipt is triggered by DTDonate and therefore shows the donor that they gave a donation of $0. Can you help?

I've upgraded, but the problem has worsened! Now the e-mail is coming through completely blank! It appears the PayPal donors' details are NOT being recorded at all in DT Donate. Example below:
Subject: New Online Donation
has sent a donation
Details are as follows:
Donor's Name:
Organization:
Address:
City (State,Country):
(,)
Zip Code:
Email:
Donation Amount:
0.00

I assume your donation record being created is also empty of details... if created at all? If the email isn't showing anything, it's because there isn't anything to show. As you are the only person reporting this problem, it must be tied to a setup issue somewhere.
- make sure the permissions on your site are correct (directories 755 and files 644). Some servers are not properly configured for this and assign other permissions to new folders and files. Maybe on the reinstall the com_dtdonate areas were assigned bad permissions.
- make sure IPN is enabled in the PayPal account. Check also that the sending of IPN messages is enabled (seen in some paypal accounts)
- make sure auto-return is OFF in the PayPal account.
One of the above items is most likely the source of the problem.
Thanks for the reply. The permissions are all correct.
Regarding the IPN, enabling it requires a "listener" script at a specific URL. Does DTDonate provide this URL? Otherwise I'm not sure what to put there. A URL needs to be specified to receive the messages that Paypal sends.
