DT Donate 2.2.0 is finally here! We have not updated DT Donate in a while... and some of you have been patiently waiting. Well, we hope it is worth the wait as we have made MANY improvements. Please note that all changes are only made to the Joomla 1.5 version of DT Donate. The improvements are...
  • Fixed various bugs that have been reported and addressed many concerns and suggestions on functionality.
  • When the user chooses a preset donation amount, that is now shown in the backend records, the CSV export and all emails. The preset name is also shown as the payment description in PayPal and Authorize.net instead of just "Online Donation" as before.
  • Backend records now show the Start Date and number of payments of a recurring donation (for Authorize.net records). This is also added to the CSV export file and the admin notification email.
  • All of the regular fields can now be modified. You can drag and drop them to change the ordering, and can also mark which fields are shown/hidden and which fields are required.
  • Added two new standard fields: Title and Address2. The title field is a dropdown that you fill with options. Whatever title options you want to give are completely up to you.
  • Language files now adhere to the Joomla 1.5 language structure, meaning there are now two files... one for the frontend and one for the backend. The old language file is no longer used so if you had made any changes, they will need to be re-applied to the new language files. Also, more items have been added to the language files.
  • WYSIWYG editor is now used in the configuration of the on-screen messages and emails that you customize. This allows you to easily apply HTML elements to these areas.
  • Email tags are now available allowing you to further customize the thank you email. You can use these tags to include various data from the donation record such as user information, amount, payment type, frequency, start date, etc. The backend settings area shows the available tags.
  • The option given to users to save their payment info for future use (Authorize.net and ECheck) was previously always given when CB integration was enabled. Now it is a separate option so you can integrate with CB but NOT allow the option to save payment data if you do not wish to do so.
  • Configuration is now saved in the database instead of a file which will make for easier upgrades in future releases. As you uninstall DT Donate to reinstall future upgrades, you will not have to worry about re-applying any of your settings. They will have remained in the database. When upgrading to 2.2.0, this will be your last time to upgrade and then re-apply settings.
  • configuration is now in a cleaner tabbed format. Also the backend has had visual improvements.
HOW TO UPGRADE
  1. Login to our site, go to My Orders and download the DT Donate package there. If you do not see a download option, then that would signify that your order is over one year old. To get continued updates, you will need to make a new purchase. If you are less than one year from your purchase, the download will still be available to you.
  2. Prior to uninstalling your existing DT Donate package, be sure to save your config.dtdonate.php file and the english.dtdonate.php language file.You can NOT re-use these files but you may want to copy and paste some elements from them. You can paste your settings (messages, emails, etc) from this file into the backend of the new DT Donate. Then these items will be saved in the database.
  3. Uninstall DT Donate. Then Install the new 2.2.0 version.
  4. Go to the Configuration page, make whatever changes are needed and SAVE your changes. You must save the config before everything will work properly. This is to make sure everything is recorded to your database.
  5. If you need to make any language file changes, you can edit these files:
    FRONTEND: /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_dtdonate.ini
    BACKEND: /administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_dtdonate.ini
