TOPIC: JomSocial Events Plugin

Just like we've got a plug-in for standard Joomla articles, would it be possible to somehow have a plug-in for the JomSocial events system? I'd love (as would the whole JomSocial community!) there to be a close integration between DT Reg and JomSocial events (as showing now on the Joomla.org community site)... Just not too sure how it would work. The JS system is still techically in beta but expected to be released any day now..... (so I'm told).

The jomsocial events addition does look pretty good, what would make it awesome is if DT register could be integrated to charge users to list events and handle the ticket sales for those events.

Once 2.7 of DT Register is ready, we'll be able to look at further JS events integration... as frontend event management and further user permission controls will be in place. Thanks.

I use Jomsocial also and considered this but I like keeping the two event programs separate. since the JomSocial site users have the ability to set up events there may end up being many events crying wolf and competing with site sanctioned events. (like member group creation with too many groups and low interest confusing the group choice) the other fear is lack of control with the delete button on an event that was farther verified with the use of a professional payment gateway.

I plan on maintaining a Jevents calendar and this registration gateway then sitting back and watching jomsocial events development grow. 1.8 is a release of tried beta 1.7 but it was tried by JomSocial tech savy folks. Developers often overlook obvious needs and complex tasks that typical surfers require and fail to overcome.
Members submission of events on Jevents I disabled and post a form (breezing forms) for members to fill out. the Jevents event submission form was too techy and required the user to learn the many options.

I thought of adding a JomSocial event to the Club Jevents calendar when the event was verified or the event owner asked to have it listed. at this point i could request members to sing up via Jomsocial. explaining that it was a member organized event. I dont want to give members registration info like email and address. JomSocial uses the site mail/message service for the protection of personal email and member info.
In short I believe there is a need for a social network event calendar and a professional event calendar and the two should have different looks and maintain independent character

Points taken - but hopefully we can have some optional integration between JomSocial and DT Register fabuloso (my own codename for 2.7!!!!) - because there are some of us out there that really want the 2 to be connected.

Could an event in DT Register have a back-end option to link to a JomSocial event - and once linked the JomSocial event when displayed would have a 'REGISTER NOW' link through to DT Reg?

It's good business for DT Reg too - as the JomSocial crowd will love feeling the power!!!!
