Our events are hosted by other organizations in our association. We do not allow backend access to those organizations; but, would like to have the ability to allow authorized user(s) in the hosting organizations to download a CSV report(s) for the event from the frontend.
I need the same feature, the ability for my race directors to run a report on their registrations. But only the races they have assigned to them. Thanks.
I use the excellent extension SQL 2 Excel Pro for this purpose. You can setup spreadsheet download links. I usually just set it up to send the organiser an updated spreadsheet every day. Requires basic SQL knowledge but has tools to help you write the queries.

Adding my voice to this as I'd love it to be an inbuilt DT Register feature - enable a nominated user to download the CSV report from the front-end.
A couple of points here:
1) The current back-end CSV Export is overly complicated because you have to pick which custom fields you want to include - I cannot remember which events have which custmo fields so I always end up selecting everything! I think we'd need to straighten that out before offering the front end capability - Whichever events you select, it should download the appropriate custom fields auotmatically?
2) Could the 'nominated person' simply be the same as whoever the owner of the original JEvents event is? Does that make sense - Every DT Register Event is based on a JEvent - and that can be given a nominated owner right? Or I suppose a config option in DT Register to say which User ID's should be able to access when logged in?
Anyway, this would be a SUPER COOL enhancement. Is it in DT 2.7?
As well as the checkbox to include all fields in the CSV export, another checkbox to only include fields used in the events selected on the previous page would be a big step forward for our events
