Hi there!

Now the private events are accessible if the user is logged in. So far so good...but...let's think a bit more

Why do we need the private event? As for me, the main purpose is to hide them from everyone except the user who is supposed to see this event.

Now if I publish them in the hidden menu, I can send the link, but the client can view the other hidden events, if he deletes everything after "?"
/hiddenevents?controller=event&task=options&eventId=827

Thus, these events are NOT private actually.

Is it possible to prevent direct access to the list of the categories and to limit the access to those who know the exact link to the private event?

This technology is made in the download archives (say, zoo).
The main idea is forbidden direct access to another files which are located in the same category

www.site.com/category/filename123456

This is a bit simplified, but the main idea is that you can access the file if you enter the exact link, but you can't access the other files, just entering the:
www.site.com/category

Thank you

Private events have always worked this way in DT Register and it is the way most people want it from comments and discussions we've had. Many people want others to see events that are available, just not be able to register unless they are logged in.

If you want to hide events completely until the user logs in, do that through categories. You can set the category access level to "Registered", then the non-logged in user will not see any events from that category until they login.

Actually I wanted to hide private events from everybody (even registered and logged in users) except those who are invited (sent the link to the specific event).

Don't want to compare, but this feature is made in RSEvents.
