TOPIC: Event Date and Time Optional!

Could it be done?

Right now we have the mind-set that DT Register is for events - and sure, an event has to have a start date right - Makes sense, but....

I'd love to use DT Register for 'Membership Cards' and other such things - one off applications which don't have an expiry date..... Sure I know I can enter random dates and ignore them - BUT it's real important for me that all my other events show their dates at the front-end listings.... Trouble is, if I do that, then my 'non-sensical dates' that I use for my 'Membership Cards' etc will show up too....

So what would be the damage in making the date fields optional?!?!?!!!!! OR if it's easier to code - Allow entry of dates but per event have a 'Don't show Date at Front-End' type thing....
