During the last month, I am returning almost every day with the hope to find a new forum post, a reply to my ticket, or a new release that will address the various issues of the extension.
Today, I noticed some forum posts with Nathan's signature. I knew Nathan was on DT development team when we purchased the extension, but few months ago we learned through forum posts that DTH has been changed ownership.
Can we have an official announcement about the current status and the future of the business that directly affect the services and the software we have paid for ?
We need to know if we shall expect a brighter future, with bug-free software and responsive support, or if we have to quit and run away...
Please let us know...
thanks
Thank you for your inquiry. We are expanding our team and hired Nathan and as you can see he has started. He is going to help us get caught up on tickets and forum posts.
While I see posts frequently about bug-free software, I hope everyone understands that we make every best effort to put bug-free code in our customers' hands. The key to making clients happy is to be very responsive when a bug is encountered. We hired Nathan to give us more resources for being more responsive. Also, I am going to be reviewing open tickets regularly to make sure that we are getting those issues resolved quicker.
We will be sending out an update very soon about changes in DTH. Those changes include involving clients in our current product roadmap and actually letting all customers know what is on our roadmap. This should allow our clients to better plan for new features and products. We also want to give clients some notice of our plans so they can participate in the direction of those new features and products if they would like to do so. Historically, DTH would engage one customer for a new product or feature and the end result is more work on our part and our customers' side with reworking the changes that are needed to accommodate the masses. A better participation from many initially should improve things tremendously.
I am encouraged because it sounds like many, including yourself, are happy to participate in some of those discussions to help us steer the products in the right direction for you.
Rich thank you for the reply...
I hope and wish that everything will be as you have described here.
You have in your hands a great product. It is so sad to see it loosing its value, by being so buggy, with no clear direction and no support.
You have to know that most of us have been vary patient recently. We did the choice to go with your solution and based our business on this.
Having unresolved issues for weeks and getting no answers on our calls is killing us and our business.
Example: Your business needs internet connection to run. Imagine, how it would be, if the ISP have your office internet connection down for weeks, without answering their phones ?
What would you do ?
DT register is for our business what is the internet connection for your office.
So, I feel you have to try hard if it is to gain our trust. I am willing to give a last chance and I will wait for few weeks to see how things will roll.
Hope this time to not disappoint me.
All the best...
I would very much welcome a conversation with you.
There are a few key features I am willing to contribute funds to pay for, but for whatever reason, I've never even been able to get a cost estimate from the development team.
1. The number one thing new management needs to do is to split DT into two code bases: (1) A development brand and (2) A stable branch.
2. It would be really, really nice if you released patches as opposed to full upgrades. This would allow those of us who made some customizations to not have them overwritten every time we do an upgrade.
3. Let us contribute code. Many of us have made improvements to DT_Reg. Speaking for myself I will glad'y contribute them because it means I won't have to re-implement them every time I upgrade. But the dev team seems to have been so busy in the past that it was impossible to get their attention.
Would it be possible to speak to you by phone to go over specific features and upgrades? You can reach me at 1-888-727-7672 ext 0.
I need some custom code developed...can someone from DTRegister please contact me so I know who to send our requirements to? Would LOVE to get this done and tested before August 8th because it could change all our training (being held that night) for our trip coordinators. I don't think it's too hard.
