TOPIC: Joomla 2.5 - Category Name not saved

Hello,

have some kind of weired behaviour when saving an event. It is possible to save an event, but the category value / name is not overtaken and not stored.

In the event list view in the backend it is without category: "none". It is possible to book such an event over the upcoming events module, but it is not listed over an menu item.

Someone out there who can help?

... the value and name of the category are correct in the database. But the system does not display them in the frontend and seems not to use them.

I had the same issue and have a ticket open. DT recognized this as a bug and they worked for fix. They sent me 2 files to replace on the component and they said that this fix would be included in the next release.
The files with the fix, didn't work. Actually it made things worse, as category was not displayed even when editing the event.
Then I tried installing the new release which simply reverted back to the buggy behavior where categories are not showing in the Events Manager and the front-end as well.
Since that time, no news regarding the issue.
