We need to cap our children's conference at $180 per family or $150 per family during early bird. It's not clear (unless I test it, which I may do here in a few min) if the Flat group rate (which we trigger at 3 kids) will drop itself by our $10 early bird PER user, or not. Otherwise I guess we'll just have to manually change the flat rate when early bird hits.

Thanks!

Opp, it DOES honor it, the problem is, in my tests it freaked and the 4th person caused the price to go down an extra 10. GOing to just turn off early bird and set the prices hard. That appears to work.

Okay, this is freaky (did a bit more testing). I think what it's doing is dropping the $10 early bird off EACH person, but since I have the flat rate the SAME for 4, 5, 6, 7, it's compounding. The more I add the lower the price. So since I have to edit the thing anyway, I'm just shutting off the earlybird function.

This is the last comment I added to a ticket I opened in November regarding this bug. I don't think a resolution has been found. This was appended to a bug discovering that if you pay for a group during the earlybird discount, then log in after the early bird period expires and add a member to that group or modify information for an existing group member, it will apply the current rate to everyone who has been paid for and show a balance due. Only solution so far is don't allow people to login if you want to use earlybirds/late fees.

appended comment below

Oh... and to make this issue that much more unattractive, I discovered another behavioral issue with the earlybird discount...

I have a max group size of 10 and a flat rate applied to that group size of 10. If you register less than 10 it applies the earlybird rate properly during the initial registration. If you log in later and add members, it changes everyone's rate to the normal rate even if the earlybird has yet to expire. However, if you reach the max group size at a later time, it then applies the flat fee rate, AND the discount rate. I had not noticed this before and it may help. Of course I am not sure if an earlybird should be applied if you are charging a flat fee for a certain group size as I "think" much of the community would think that your discount is built into that flat fee.. but I don't know for sure what others think.
