Abrender, If you don't mind could you tell us what permissions you have ticked please?
Obviously the SuperUser does everything apart from 'EDIT OWN EVENT ONLY'
What about the Registered user group? Everything unticked apart from 'EDIT OWN EVENT ONLY'?
I ticked this at the same time as doing a version update to 2.8.2. I wasn't sure if it was the permission or the new version that had fixed it.
Not great testing/debugging methodology I know, but it's working so yay!
I was having this issue "Not Authorized to View..." message when users used the Pay Now feature of the User Panel. This thread helped me, as selecting "Manage Records" for Registered Users resolved it, but I wouldn't call it an accurate fix since even when it was NOT selected, users could still use the Pay Now feature successfully - The error message only appeared once the system tried to redircted them back to the User Panel with the edited record. Here's the support ticket and update I sent explaining the issues, if it helps anyone:
---
Please acknowledge you got my support request last week and are investigating: User Panel Payment Payment Redirect Error. We're coming upon another invoice deadline with hundreds of people making payments in the user panel and daily we're getting emails from people asking us to confirm that their payment was actually made because of this glitch. I just tested it - and it's still not working right - telling people they are not authorized to view the page after they submit payment. I tried it with the user panel set as both "public" and "registered" but it makes no difference. Dt Register is keeping the person logged in, but somehow forgetting who they are at the same time and not giving them permission to redirect back to the user panel after payment.
---update:---
I have an update to this ticket, after getting some ideas after searching the Forum for help. I have resolved the User Panel Redirect issue, but I'm not convinced this is a full "fix"
In permissions, I selected the option for "Manage Records" in the Registered row. I had already selected Edit Own Items, thinking that would give any user the ability to edit their own records - and in truth, it does give them the ability but once they do, the redirect doesn't think they have permission to return to the newly edited User Panel. And in truth, they can return to the newly edited User Panel via the the menu link, it's just the automatic redirect that won't give them permission. So this sounds like a bigger issue than just needing to select "Manage Records." Besides, it's location in the Permissions tab gives the impression that like all the other options (except Edit Own Items) apply to the whole system - and therefore selecting "manage records" gives users permission not only to manage their own records, but anyone else's. Am I wrong?
